ABOUT THE ARTIST
Sandra Van Ruymbeke is a multimedia artist living in Toronto. She has a Masters in Social Work and holds a Masters of Fine Arts in Interdisciplinary Arts Media and Design from OCAD University . Her current studio practice examines concepts of inclusion, exclusion and the abject. Using photography, painting, video and sculpture. Her thesis work explored the margins of human perception and the materiality of trash. Trash is constructed to be marginalized if not completely invisible thus propelling a cycle of denial and further proliferation.
Sandra works in collaboration with her son, Joel Van Lawlis. They are both interested in natural environments
